Following are the answers to some of the frequently asked questions (FAQs) at the Virtual Career Fair:
Q: Is there a physical career fair that the virtual career fair supports? A: No, the Virtual Career Fair is a completely online career fair.
Q: Do I need to register as a candidate to attend the career fair? A: You can search the career fair and visit employer booths without registering. However, if you want to submit your materials, you will need to register.
Q: I am already registered at CollegeGrad.com. Do I need to register again? A: Yes, since the Virtual Career Fair has components which are different from your standard registration.
Q: I registered previously, but cannot locate my login and password. How do I get these sent to me? A: Your login is your e-mail address that you used when registering. If you don’t remember your password, simply click on “Forgotten your password? Reset it.” on the login page.
Q: I don’t have a Web cam. Do I have to do a video interview? A: The video interview is not required (you can simply submit your resume to employers), but keep in mind that the reason employers are participating in the Virtual Career Fair is to provide video feedback in both directions.
Q: As an employer, do I need to use video to participate? A: No, but most candidates will be looking for your video responses to the standard questions they would ask at a career fair. You will enhance your online presence by having this video available.
Q: I have a standard employer video that we use. Can we just use that? A: Since Virtual Career Fair follows a standard Q&A format, you will need to record your responses online. Don’t worry about making it “production quality” video. A good Web cam will provide you with a clear enough image to portray you and your company on the basic questions.
Q: Can we use this online interviewing technology for long distance or custom interviews? A: We are presently developing this technology for custom interviews and it will be available soon. Please contact us for more information.
